How a wrap marker works
The label has two parts: a white area that takes the print and a long clear tail. You print the ID on the white area, place it on the cable and wrap. The white part goes around the jacket first, then the clear tail wraps over it and seals the print.
What size do I need?
Two numbers matter. The width runs along the cable and sets how long a line of ID text can be. The clear tail has to wrap at least once around the cable, so it must be at least as long as the cable’s circumference (π × diameter).
| Cable diameter | Circumference | Minimum clear tail |
|---|---|---|
| 2 mm | 6.3 mm | 7 mm |
| 4 mm | 12.6 mm | 13 mm |
| 6 mm | 18.8 mm | 19 mm |
| 8 mm | 25.1 mm | 26 mm |
| 10 mm | 31.4 mm | 32 mm |
